Part 1
In part one everyone is surprised when Linnet Ridgeway arrives in town. Jackie calls Linnet and asks if she can come and visit her. But then Jackie comes and visits Linnet as a surprise and talks about how Linnet might marry Lord Windsleham and Jackie asks if Linnet can give Simon Doyle a job. Jackie loves Simon Doyle and will die to marry him. Joanna Southwood is at Linnet's house and says rude saying's like "I wouldn't be your friend if you weren't rich." Linnet is going to marry Lord Windsleham.
Chapter 2
In chapter 2 Linnet and Simon Doyle are walking down the street and then they come to the "tour" on the Nile and see everyone there. They are very surprised to see Jackie there and figure out that that ruins there plans to have a nice honeymoon. Hercule Poirot looks for suspicions and finds the problem between Linnet, Jackie, and Simon. Jackie starts to spy on them and get very suspicious about the both of them. I can't wait to see what she does.
Chapter 3
In this chapter on the boat Mrs. Allerton and Mrs. Otterbourne gossip about Linnet Doyle and talk to Mr. Poirot the detective about what suspicions on the boat. Mrs. Allerton and Mrs. Otterbourne get very nosey. But they are trying to help. They want to get to know Hercule Poirot better so that he will not be suspicious about them too.
Chapter 4
In chapter 4 Linnet talks to Hercule Poirot on the boat about Jackie and that she threatened to kill both of them. Linnet talked to Hercule Poirot about how Jackie is basically stalking her and watching her every move. Jackie gets mad that she is accusing her of something that she claimes that she didn't do. Linnet also asks Hercule Poirot if he can act for her and help her against Jackie. He replies "No."
Chapter 5
In chapter 5 Jackie talks to Hercule Poirot on the boat and says that "If I tried to kill Linnet would you stop me?". He said "No". He wants to be nosy and get different perspectives of everyone on the boat. He know sees the suspicious side of Jacqueline De Belfort.
Chapter 6
In chapter 6 Hercule Poirot talks to Simon, Linnet, and Jackie and gets their side of the story about the traded marriages. Hercule Poirot is trying to get the real story. The one really weird comment that Jackie said is that "I just want to kill Linnet and myself. I want to stick a pistol in her ear and pull the trigger.
Chapter 7
In chapter 7 everyone is on the boat when Jackie talks to Hercule Poirot about Simon and Jackie and says that she had a dream about killing Linnet. Poirot gets very curious about Jackie and what she will do. Linnet and Simon also set off to go to the Philae when Jackie tries to follow them and then they pull of to the side and get away from her.
Chapter 8
In chapter 8 Mrs. Allerton has dinner with Hercule Poirot and Tim. They gossip about everyone on the boat and "the challenge" that is yet to come. The challenge is Linnet and Jackie and Simon's mess. Then Hercule Poirot hears when they are done with diner, Simon says "We have to go through with it now." Simon and Jackie are up to something.
Chapter 9
In chapter 9 everyone is gossiping and talking like crazy on the boat Mr. Ferguson was really weirdly and awkwardly just walked up to Linnet and said " I admire your business like capacity." And he did a little bow. That made it really awkward for Simon Doyle, Linnet Doyle, and Andrew Pennington.
Chapter 10
In chapter 10 everyone on the boat goes and visits the pyramids of Egypt. Linnet is standing underneath a cement statue on the pyramid and suddenly it almost falls on Linnet. Hercule Poirot asks Linnet if she has any enemies and she reply's "No".
Chapter 11
In chapter 11 Hercule Poirot talks to Colonel Race about one person in the mystery that is A and on that is B. The B person makes threats to the A person because the A person did something terrible to the B person. So the B person wants to get revenge to the A person by killing them. Note: the A person is rich, charming, young, and beautiful.
Chapter 12
In chapter 12 Linnet gets drunk and decides to get revenge on Simon Doyle by shooting him. Then she says that she is so very sorry and that she wants to do suicide by jumping in the Nile.
Chapter 13
In chapter 13 everybody finds out that Linnet Doyle is dead. Hercule Poirot and Colonel Race interrogate people. One of the people that they interrogates is Dr. Bessner. He claims that he was just taking care of Simon Doyle. Then they decide next to interrogate Louise, the maid.
Chapter 14
In chapter 14 Hercule Poirot and Colonel Race interrogate more people. One of which is Jackie ant when they do she starts crying like a baby and claims that she didn't do the crime of shooting Simon Doyle. Another person that they interrogate is Louise, the maid When they interrogate her they ask her "Did you see the pearls when you came in to Linnet 's bedroom to tend her?" Louise replied "I didn't notice the pearls because when I went into Linnet's room I fainted when I saw the sight of her. I definitely think that Louise is lying. Louise stole the pearls.
Chapter 15
In chapter 15 Hercule Poirot and Colonel Race try to figure out where the pistol has went. So they detect that the best idea is to throw the pistol into the Nile. But then someone or at least someone would hear the splash. So another not so brilliant idea is to hide the pistol. They really want to check in Mrs. Bowers room because she isn't there and she was the one that was staying with Jackie after she shot Simon in the leg. Jackie and Mrs. Bowers might be a team.
Chapter 16
In chapter 16 Colonel Race stops and questions Miss Van Schuyler. Miss Van Schuyler says that she was just sleeping, (as she is a very light sleeper) the night of Linnet's death. Miss Van Schuyler's room is right next to Linnet's room. When Miss Van Schuyler heard a splash out side of her door. Miss Van Schuyler said that once she heard the noise that she immediately got up and went to the door of her cabin and opened it up and saw Rosalie Otterbourne on the side of the railing by the water and she had just dropped something in the water. Miss Van Schuyler knows something. Colonel Race and Hercule Poirot are now trying to piece everything together.
Chapter 17
In chapter 17 Hercule Poirot and Colonel Race interrogate Roasile Otterbourne, Signor Richetti, Mr. Ferguson and Mrs. Otterbourne chipped in a little bit. Roaslie said that she was in her room the whole entire time and definetly didn't do the crime of Linnet Doyle. Signor Richetti said that he was in his room the whole time. He put his lights out at 11:00 and went to bed at 1:00 and he heard the splash at 1:10. He stayed in his room when and after he heard the splash. Mrs. Otterbourne said that she was in her room the whole time and she suggested that Simon Doyle might have done it to inherit Linnet's money. Mr. Ferguson said that he went off the boat with Cornelia for a little bit and did some kissing and then came on the boat again and went straight to bed. But before he went to sleep he heard the splash too and stayed in his room the whole time.
Chapter 18
In chapter 18 Hercule Poirot and Colonel Race interrogate Andrew Pennington. Andrew didn't hear a sound and stayed in his room the whole time and went to sleep. Colonel Race and Hercule Poirot are trying to figure out what the possible motives are that certain people would do such a thing to Linnet. One really good clue that Colonel Race found is that Fleetwood always wears a handkerchief and they found a handkerchief. They are deffinetly getting closer to finding the murderer.
Chapter 19
In chapter 19 Simon asks for Jackie to talk to. I think that they are making a plan together. Then, Hercule Poirot talks to Rosalie about the night that she was seen by Miss Van Schuyler tossing something into the Nile. Hercule Poirot asks Rosalie about what he thinks that she threw in to the Nile. He thinks that it was all of Mrs. Otterbourne's alcoholic beverages. He was correct. But, when he opened the door to see Rosalie she had dark circles around her eyes and lines around her mouth, she was up late last night tossing the drinks in the water, around 1:10. Something's up.
Chapter 20
In chapter 20 Mrs. Allerton and Tim Allerton talk about why Mrs. Allerton likes and feels bad for Jackie and Tim sees her as the murderer and the one who shot Simon Doyle. Then Hercule Poirot joins in and he talks with them about Joanna Southwood and how Jackie felt bad for her. Then there is a activity on the boat so Hercule Poirot and Colonel Race wait for someone to come. Then Mrs. Bowers wants to see Colonel Race and give him Linnet's pearls. Mrs. Bowers is the one that either stole Linnet's pearls or found them.
Chapter 21
In chapter 21 Mrs. Bowers turns in Linnet's pearls. Colonel Race said asked Mrs. Bowers if she stole them. She said "No,of course not!" Miss Van Schuyler stole them, but then she gave them to me. So, that she wouldn't be noticed. Then, Colonel Race asks Mrs. Bowers some questions about when Miss Van Schuyler stole them. Then, they departed and Colonel Race talked to Hercule Poirot about what Mrs. Bowers has him, the pearls. Hercule Poirot was already starting to put clues in his mind when he saw them.
Chapter 22
In chapter 22 Hercule Poirot and Colonel Race try to find the most logical way of finding out who stole Linnet Doyle's pearls. They go and start checking people's rooms. Like Andrew Pennington's and find nothing. But when they decide to check Louise's because she was the first one to go into Linnet's room. They find out that Louise is under her bed.
Chapter 23
In chapter 23 Hercule Poirot and Colonel Race find out that Louise is dead. They go around and get Dr. Bessener and tell everyone the news. Jackie seems fascinated and Hercule Poirot asks Rosalie if she saw anyone and she trembles and says that she saw no one Rosalie is very suspicious.
Chapter 24
In chapter 24 Jackie comes to see Simon and asks if he will die or not and then gets all worried like he will die. Then Mrs. Otterbourne comes in and exclaimed that she saw who killed Louise and whoever killed Louise must have killed Linnet. She said that that person was Andrew Pennington. So Hercule Poirot and Colonel Race start to ask him if he was in that room at the exact time.
Chapter 25
In chapter 25 Hercule Poirot asks Andrew Pennington if he can meet him in his room in half an hour and interrogate him about the chain killing of Linnet and Louise. Then Cornelia, Jackie and Hercule Poirot talk about if it was right and how this murderer could of done the murder. Next, Mr. Ferguson asks Ms. Van Schuyler if he can marry her younger cousin Cornelia. Cornelia says yes and walks out of the room very suspiciously.
Chapter 26
In chapter 26 Colonel Race and Hercule Poirot interview Andrew Pennington and Mr. Fanthorp. They are both agreeable but very annoyed. Mr. Fanthorp just says that he did nothing. Andrew Pennington gets really mad. He is the suspicious one because he didn't take the Carminic he took the Normandy. He definitely did something.
Chapter 27
In chapter 27 Hercule Poirot talks to Rosalie Otterbourne and Tim Allerton. When he talks to them Tim says that he stole Linnet Doyle's pearls. He said that he would give them back. He is very hesitant to tell his mother Mrs. Allerton because he thinks that she will be furious with him and be ashamed of him. Rosalie says to him that he is always so nice to her and then she starts to weep on Mrs. Allerton's shoulder. Rosalie is acting weird.
Chapter 28
In chapter 28 Hercule Poirot and Colonel Race try to problem solve and investigate who could of done the murders of Linnet Doyle, Louise Bourget, and Mrs. Otterbourne. They look on records and find out that Mrs. Van Schuyler is kreptomaniac. That means that she has a serious habit of stealing things. We also find out that Singor Richetti is the one that killed Mrs. Otterbourne and Louise Bourget. There must be someone else that killed Linnet Doyle.
Chapter 29
In chapter 29 Hercule Poirot and Colonel Race figured out from their clues in the previous text that the only reasonable way for Linnet Doyle to be killed is for Jackie and Simon to team up and kill Linnet. When Jackie was shooting Simon she didn't really shoot him she only shot the gun a slight bit away from him. But it felt real to everyone else. Then Simon took red nail polish and dyed the handkerchief red so that it looked like blood. Jackie got taken up to her room, while Simon quickley ran up to Linnet's room and shot her in the ear and took red nail polish and wrote a J on the wall. Then, he threw the gun into the water and rushed down stairs where he was now again on the couch in pain. Jackie and Simon are still married, they just wanted to get Linnet's money and be with each other.
Chapter 30
In chapter 30 Hercule Poirot goes to Jackie's cabin and just stood there until Simon spilled the whole story out that she and Simon killed Linnet for her money. They wanted to make a better life for each other so they needed to kill Linnet to get the money. Jackie said that when Simon wrote the "J" on the wall that that was his kind of cheesy trick to do. She said that she couldn't think when Mrs. Otterbourne was going in to tell Hercule Poirot and Colonel Race. She just went to her room and prayed that she and Simon wouldn't get killed. She also says that it would have been better if Simon did get killed. Instead of being in this ugly mess. Poirot admires Jackie and her thinking. Jackie might get out of this mess.
Chapter 31
In chapter 31 Cornelia gets married to Dr. Besener. Then, Simon apologizes for spilling everything out and Jackie pulls out a pistol and shoots herself. Colonel Race and Simon Doyle are stunned. Simon Doyle is ruined and shall forever be sad. Colonel Race is confused about how she got the second pistol. Then Mr. Ferguson says that the past isn't important but the future is. He is so very true.
