The Nile is in Egypt and is the longest river in the world and it flows North unlike many other rivers which flow South. In the book the cruise is on the Nile. There are 2 tributaries in the Nile the white tributary and the blue tributary. It runs through 10 countries including Sudan, South Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Egypt. The Nile flows a whopping 4,130 miles long. The Blue Nile is the most source of soil and water. However, the White Nile is the longest and rises in the great lakes region.
On the cruise in "Death on the Nile" they end up in Cairo. Cairo is the capital of Egypt and is the largest city in the Arab world and Africa. Cairo is located near the Nile delta. It is also the 16th largest city in the world. Cairo is nicknamed "the city of a thousand minarets" for its Islamic architecture. Cairo is associated with the Ancient Egypt world because of the great sphinx and the great pyramids that live inside the wonderful city.
